Community Service

PTC students, faculty and staff are engaged in the community around them, doing the right thing for the right reasons. Giving back comes naturally to the PTC family.

The efforts of our students, faculty and staff haven't gone unnoticed. We are proud of the fact that we have received national and statewide awards. The Pennsylvania Association of Private School Administrators (PAPSA) and the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU) have honored our family with their annual community service awards on multiple occasions.

There are activities that take place on a regular basis to allow you to get involved and grow as an individual.

  • Adopt a Highway
  • Race for the Cure
  • Relay for Life
  • Children's Mentoring program
  • Park Clean Ups
  • Daffodil Days
  • Nursing Home events
  • Awareness events - Motorcycle Safety, Spina Bifida, Alzheimer's, Cancer, Autism, Scoliosis
  • Santa Project
  • Computer classes for senior citizens
  • Boy Scout and Girl Scout activities

"I am routinely humbled by the depth of caring I see from our students, staff, and faculty," said Greg DeFeo, President, Pittsburgh Technical College. "The Santa Project is a heartwarming example of our faculty and administration extending beyond what we do in our classrooms and labs. We strive to impact the whole student - to nurture graduates who know not only how to do the job they'll be hired for, but also how to give back to their community through service, volunteerism and compassion."
